How Shall We Be Saved?

Much like John 3:16 teaches us that God sent his Son to provide a path to eternal life, John 3:17 tells us that God didn't send Christ to condemn the world, but that, through Him, we might be saved.  We also rejoice that His plan of salvation is simple.  We must hear the Word and accept it. We must turn from our old ways and repent.  We must confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  And .we must be baptized

faith/believe

Belief that is achieved through faith is central to our salvation.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

repentance

To repent means to stop doing things that are contrary to God's will. God commands all to repent.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.

Acts 26:30

confession

Confession is an audible expression of our faith - our belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10;10

baptism

Baptism, or immersion, is an outward sign of submission to God. (Buried with Him in baptism - Colossians 2:12)  Without baptism, salvation is not possible.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mark 16:16
